Stevia is a plant species in the genus of the sunflower family (Asteraceae). It is commonly known as candy leaf, sugar leaf, sweetleaf.  This is  Paraguay native plant. The leaves contain a number of sweet-tasting chemicals known as steviol glycosides. It is more than 300 times sweeter than table sugar. For diabetes, stevia could be a way to sweeten yogurt or hot tea without adding carbohydrates.
